Money, shipping and brand names
How income actually arrives: the shipping box, the four yen milestones, the brand renaming added in Patch 1.30, and what is worth shipping in week one.
Shipping is measured in yen milestones at 10,000, 100,000, 1,000,000 and 10,000,000, and Patch 1.30 lets you rename a brand from the field guide.
Money in Kagatsu arrives through a shipping box, and the game measures your progress in four round numbers. Knowing them changes what you plant.
The four shipping tiers
| Total shipped | Achievement | Global rate |
|---|---|---|
| 10,000 yen | Five Pecks of Rice | 78.7% |
| 100,000 yen | Doing Good Business | 62.1% |
| 1,000,000 yen | Well-to-Do | 22.7% |
| 10,000,000 yen | Filthy Rich | 1.7% |
The first two tiers are a by-product of playing. The third is a goal. The fourth is a multi-year project, and 1.7% tells you how few people commit to it.
What to ship, in order
- Anything that spoils or duplicates. Storage is limited, money is not.
- Processed goods over raw. The processor exists to raise value per item; the crafting page covers the stations.
- Cooked dishes once the kitchen runs — cooking is both an entry and a value multiplier.
- Branded goods last. A brand is a label, and labels are worth more on a full shipment than on a single item.
Brands
Brand naming is a Patch 1.30 feature, and it is more interesting than it sounds:
- You rename a brand from the field guide.
- Names are limited to 8 characters.
- Patch 1.08 added an item icon before the name for branded items.
The practical use is organisation: brand your cheese, your wine and your preserved fish separately, and you can see at a glance what is in the shipping box.
The early money loop
| Day range | What earns | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 7 | Requests and starter crops | Requests pay immediately and raise affection |
| 7 to 30 | Daily harvest plus fish | Volume beats value early |
| 30 to 90 | Processed goods and animals | Milk and eggs are daily, not seasonal |
| 90+ | Branded and cooked goods | Value per slot finally matters |
The mistake almost everyone makes is buying furniture in the first month. Furniture is a money sink with no return until the Furniture Catalog makes it repeatable; the furniture page explains the catalog gate.
Money you cannot spend
There is no premium currency, no shop that takes real money, and no reason to hold yen beyond the next tool upgrade. The four tiers are the only scoreboard, which is why the grind targets page lists them next to the farming counts.
A weekly money routine
- Empty the shipping box every morning, not every third day.
- Process the perishables before they stack.
- Buy one tool upgrade a week, in range-first order.
- Bank for the next permit, not the next decoration.
Next
- Farming and crops — what goes into the box.
- Crafting and furniture — where value gets added.
- Grind targets — every numeric goal in one table.
